BATHS OF MARGHERITA DI SAVOIA

The town has been renowned since ancient times for its extensive saltworks. The spa uses the mud and the mother liquors (the water from which salt is extracted.) The mud is mineralized in contact with the mother liquor and enriched by the organic components provided by the micro algae and small shellfish contained in the pools. The peculiar red colour comes from the high presence of flagellated protozoa, the Dunaliella Salina.

It is mainly a Salso-bromo-iodic water.
