Santa Cesarea Terme, a town in the province of Lecce characterised by the presence of a picturesque medieval tower, is located on the eastern coast of the Salento peninsula and is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in Salento, thanks to the special location of the small historic village at the mouth of the strait of Otranto, the scenic heart of the region.
Famous for the quality of its salso-bromo-iodic and sulphurous water, the Baths of Santa Cesarea have represented one of the most active and popular spas in the Peninsula since the beginning of the last century, when a wise local government was able to properly exploit the various therapeutic resources present in the area, thus establishing a modern centre particularly suitable for the treatment of respiratory disorders.
