Its lanes are characterised by a medieval atmosphere; among the various monuments and historical buildings, it is worth mentioning the Municipal Palace, erected in the XV century upon request of Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere; the Palazzo Farnese, dating back to the fifteenth century which was attended by important historical personalities; the Civic Museum, which keeps various relics from the past of Viterbo, from its origins to the modern age. From the naturalistic point of view, in the neighbourhood there are Lake Bolsena and the Cimini mountains. Those who are looking for relaxation in nature may also visit the Natural Reserve of Lake Vico in Tuscia, which covers over 3,000 hectares, the Faggetta, a large area with centuries-old beech trees, situated 1,000 meters above the sea level near Soriano del Cimino, the Natural Park of Valle della Treja in the neighbouring Calcata and the WWF oasis in Vulci.
