Gently lying at the foot of the Apennine mountains, the town of Acquasanta is located in a pleasant valley crossed by the river of the same name and boasts the rare combination of the sea, the mountains and of the plain, thus establishing itself as a popular tourist destination.
Immersed in a green framework which closely recalls a real oasis of quietness, the Baths of Acquasanta were built on the left bank of the river to ensure a greater proximity to the water and feature a centuries-old therapeutic tradition, which began in 1830 and has never stopped.
TOURIST INFORMATION
The Sanctuary of Acquasanta, built on the ruins of a pre-Christian temple dedicated to the nymph Eja, is an evocative destination of pilgrimages which are repeated every summer with the processions of the confraternities.
A few metres away from the baths, there is the Paper Museum, hosted in the former Sbaraggia paper mill, a “de lo papero” factory dating back to 1756 and now turned into a unique museum, furnished in its original rooms with old machinery and tools, thus keeping alive the memory of men’s work.
