Baths of Bognanco

Bognanco, a small town in the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, is a great tourist destination included within the surrounding valleys and crossed by the Bogna river, which gives its name as well as an unspoiled and pure atmosphere to the small town.
Placed at the centre of a thermal and climatic spa, the Baths of Bognanco stem from three distinct springs of mineral water (Ausonia, Gaudenziana and San Lorenzo), which is used into various therapeutic treatments and is bottled by virtue of its diuretic, digestive and detoxifying properties.

The thermal water of Bognanco flows with different properties from three springs. Fonte Ausonia yields medium-mineral lightly sparkling water; used as table water, it stimulates gastric secretion and helps digestion. Fonte San Lorenzo supplies a ferruginous, bicarbonate-sulfate-earthy water rich in minerals and naturally sparkling; renowned for its therapeutic properties, it has a pleasant taste and is sparkling due to the high content of carbon dioxide.
Finally, Fonte Gaudenziana provides a light oligomineral water, with a low content of sodium; particularly suitable for the treatment and prevention of renal and urinary disorders, it has therapeutic properties both for prevention and maintenance.

It is mainly a bicarbonate-alkaline-earthy and bicarbonate- sulphurous alkaline-earthy water

At the Baths of Bognanco ENT, respiratory, liver, metabolic, digestive, urinary, rheumatic and bone and joint disorders are treated.

Near Bognanco there is the Stockalper hiking trail, where it is possible to meet interesting wildlife species. Do not miss the nearby Alpe San Bernardo with excursions at 1,628 metres a.s.l., Lake Ragozza and Monscera pass. It is also worth mentioning the route along the Bognanco Valley, which offers environmental and architectural amenities, including the peculiar mills of Possetto and Anzuno.
