Baths of Equi

Small suburb of Fivizzano municipality, in the province of Massa Carrara, Equi Terme is an enchanting touristic destination eased down on the slopes of Pizzo d’Uccello and immerged in a gorgeous natural scenario of Apuane Alps, where churches and medieval architectural works merged with karst caves and archaeological splendours.
Known since the ancient Roman age, the Baths of Equi owe their reputation to the presence of peculiar sulphurous water, with innumerable soothing effects, cleverly canalized in the end of 800 in a multifunctional modern structure, including a dedicated hotel and modern infrastructures addressed to client reception.

The thermal water of Equi flows along Lucido valley at variable temperatures between 17°C and 27°C. It is a meteoric water which flows in the subsoil before re-emerging; its temperature varies according to the depth of seepages.

It is mainly a sulphurous, salso, weakly radioactive water.

At the Baths of Equi cardiovascular, respiratory, ENT, dermatological, rheumatic and osteoarticular affections are cured.

Equi Terme is a suburb of Fivizzano, which is situated in Lunigiana, in the Apuane Alps Park. The area boasts numerous interesting sites in terms of nature as Pizzo dell’Uccello in the Apuane Alps and various caves; there is also a Museum of Caves. We suggest to visit Archeoparco, with reproductions of prehistoric environments.
